This is probably where I have been hiding for the past few days :) I wish. I hope to get a sunset pics at a paddy field but since I was alone and I remember not seeing any street light on my journey, I better not wait for the sunset as it will be very dark then and I might not find my way back. I have taken enough 'detour' for the past few days. I also wish I can take a photo of misty morning on a paddy field but again, time and location did not permit.

Ever since I reached Sg. Petani, Mount Jerai has been beaconing at me. Unfortunately, the sky has been quite hazy I couldn't see the mountain clearly. This is the view of the mountain from Pantai Merdeka.
I finally reach the base of the mountain at 8 a.m. this morning. I couldn't find any signboard from Gurun town and almost missed it. On the way to the top, I saw few groups of elderlies descending from the mountain and there I was climbing in my car. They couldn't possibly be walking from the top of the mountain could they? The climb up was a real challenge where there are several sharp bends, very steep route and really narrow road.
All the way up, I kept thinking about Puteri Gunung Ledang (Tiara Jacquelina) on the mountain, watching the sun rise. There is a feeling of mystic aura while ascending to the mountain top. After about 20 minutes climbing abount 12km uphill, I finally reach the Jerai Resort. I saw a signboard showing 1200m above the sea level. Wow! I'm this high and there is no one around. I heard people's voices inside the Resort but there's nobody walking around the area. My car is the only car parked at the designated area.
I'm quite disappointed I am not at the highest peak because behind me I can see taller trees on a higher part of the mountain. But when I walk forward, I can pretend I'm on top of the world. Far below, I can see paddy field as far as my eyes can see and the beach. Unfortunately, the day is very cloudy and hazy. The few pictures here are the best I can get under the circumstances. And it is also very windy. I took short video clips of the area so I can listen to the sound of the wind again. There's no other soul in sight. Only the wind... and I.
I might visit this place again and if I do, I hope I can get clear blue skies and view as far as my eyes can see.
