Let's Go Green

I have been busy with a series of training again. Alhamdulillah with 'rezeki' from Allah for Raya this year. Despite that, I managed to find some time to re-do our mini garden on the balcony. I've been thinking about what to do with it for quite some time. Should we get a water feature installed on the balcony or hire someone to design it with a nice tropical theme? None of that sounds practical to me. We're renting this place. Our new condo would be completed by end of this year but we still haven't decided whether to move or not. It has been very convenient here. Anyway, here's how our mini garden looks now. Please excuse the plastic pots. I'm being practical. Use and re-use whatever's available. If I ever find the time to find some bricks, the plastic pots as stands will be replaced. The plastic pots with plants.... it depends. Baba plastic pots are practical isn't it.

Mom gave me 6 flower pots when I drop by at her place after a training about 2 weeks ago. Hubby's quite impressed with our new mini garden but remarked how long it's going to remain green? Hehehe... I told him that's why I took some photos just in case we have to go outstation for an extended period of time... then at least we'll remember how it was when the plants look nice and green. At the opposite side of the balcony, there's a smaller area where I group plants like lemon grass, curry leaves, papaya and chilli together. I wanted to put the pandan leaves with this group but that would leave the mini garden unbalanced so for now the pandan leaves stays in the mini garden. Hubby said it's quite impossible for the papaya tree to bear fruit if it is in the pot but the tree is growing big and strong so we'll see how it goes. Even if there's no fruit, it will look nice and green. Our kangkung and ladies finger died when I was busy with a series of training last time. I still have the ladies finger seed but I'll keep it for now. I wanted to try with other plants.

I wanted to plant lime trees, turmeric leaves and few more herbs and vegetables when I have the time. For now, I'll enjoy our mini garden. I'm still looking for a small table and two chairs that can stand the weather elements so we can enjoy our garden more. Probably more stone features and I'm thinking whether I should buy a garden lamp or just use candles and lantern whenever we wanted to sit outside at night. Thank God there's no mosquito way up here. We'll have a really nice garden by the time I'm finished with it :)

We also have few more plants inside the house. I bought a few, mom gave me a few... I wanted to rearrange our kitchen so we can have more space to put the greens and also in the bathroom. So many things to do... it's a great thing I have more flexible time now. I better get on to it now :)
