That message was sent several days ago, sometime past midnight. He never said a word about it though. It is my habit to read the messages before I delete them or I'd never discover my blunder. I'm not sure whether it is better for me to know or not to know I wrongly send the sms to my boss. But now that I know, don't know where to hide my face... Help! Help!

Talk to your boss. Explain it to him. Better than give a wrong impression. I believe he is waiting for an explanation anyway. Look for a neutral ground, take him out for a coffee nearby and just talk it over. He won't fire you, but you show that you stand up for what you do. Strong ethics!
