A Day With The Children

A friend organized a day with the children from an orphanage house in Gombak yesterday. He hosted it at his place and invited friends to come and help. After preparing the gift bags and ensuring the breakfast were ready, we went to pick up the children from their house in a few cars.

Coloring contest. Everyone received a goodie bag consisting of a stationery set, a box of color pencil, an exercise book and a bath towel

I think everyone of us felt a huge responsibility to ensure all the children enjoyed themselves. My friends' children and the children from the neighbourhood also joined in the fun. None of my friends have the voice to handle the big group of children so it is up to this trainer to use her trainer's voice to give instructions to them hehehehe... I hope they won't think auntie Sue so 'garang'.

The youngest girl in the group.

Look at these young faces. Whenever I look at little girls, I always wonder how their life would be. Would they have a good life? Would they find love? Would someone break their heart? Would they find a loving man to share their life? Que sera, sera. I hope they'll have the strength to become a good person and live a fulfilling life.

After we sent them back.

The caretaker hinted that it would be nice if we can do this every weekend. We can't afford to make that commitment? While discussing about future programs with the children, everyone was OK with the idea of once every 2-3 months. Maybe we can arrange some activities more often but no one dares to make a promise. It is sad but that is reality. I enjoyed meeting old friends during the event so hopefully that is incentive enough to meet more often.
