.... for half a day. You don't think I have traced my roots to centuries old keraton somewhere huh? :D (Some explanation on keraton.)
Any lady can become one when they spend the day at Dewi Sri Spa at Plaza Damas. I went there with my colleague yesterday. We entered the place at 10.30 in the morning and left at 3; feeling rejuvenated from the top-to-toe pampering, a bit sleepy from the relaxing ambience and soothing traditional music, and hungry because they only provide snack for the whole 4-hour session. Luckily, I have taken 'nasi lemak' for breakfast.
I have to take some time to figure out how to wear the disposable panties given. Any way I put it on, I don't feel comfortable at all. It was the g-string style hehehe... I wonder if Javanese princess in the olden days wear something similar during their body pampering session. I tried to cover myself up while lying down before the therapist can cover me up with the blankets that she commented whether this is my first time. No; it is not but I will never be comfortable exposing my body to stranger no matter how many times I went for a massage or spa.
My therapist was a very young looking girl but don't underestimate her strength and her massage techniques. I received normal comments whenever I go for massage i.e. I'd stiffen up my body (in expectation of pain or feeling ticklish hehehe...) Anyway, I started to feel more relax afterwards because the massage was good and not overly painful like my normal experience with Indonesian traditional massage where I'll feel like laughing and crying at the same time.
They have everything in one room so it was very convenient. The room was big and nicely done. I wish I had brought my camera there. But if I do, then I will not be relaxing but thinking of when and where I should take photos so I can put it up in my blog :) Therefore, you just have to imagine or better still, try them out. For ladies only. No; I did not get any commission for this.
Steam followed after massage, and then lulur session. My colleague and I actually expected we will come out with yellowish body and a strong herbal smell after the session but everything was done just right. We're not yellow and didn't smell like the spice market :) The water for herbal bath in the bathtub was a little too hot to my liking but the therapist quickly adjusted it. And then, off to the shower. I feel so wicked during the body smoke session afterwards... wearing a sarong (kemban style), sitting on a stool with hole, fanning myself with mengkuang leaf fan provided so the smoke didn't get to my eyes and face. So, so wicked. I've done this before during other spa sessions elsewhere but it still felt funny. If you don't know what I'm talking about, too bad hehehe...
I dozed off a few times during my hair crème bath and pedicure session. How nice being waited hand and foot or in this case head and foot once in a while. The nice thing about this place is they don't rush the session to accommodate more clients. We took the 4-hours package but it was slightly longer than 4 hours by the time we finished. I have been to a place where the therapist is rushing and I can feel it and ended up not feeling relaxed at all. That was the last time I went there.
That was a really nice treat for us after what felt like an endless training sessions. We have set our training schedule until June and it was very pack. Maybe my colleague and I would give ourselves spa treat again after another quarter of heavy trainings.

Sounds divine. Sounds nothing like the one I had after giving birth to my eldest which was awful.
sorry to hear that. you should get someone via referrals to avoid awful experience.
It was through referral. I was trying not to kick her when she massaged my legs. Never massaged after subsequent birth. However, I kinda like foot scrubs and pedicures now.
