I'm no Martha Stewart but here are two tips that I'm using in the kitchen.
1. Two nights ago either Cik T or Cik Cen (the ratatouille family if you're wondering) trespassed our garbage basket before I had chance to take it out. It's attracted to the grilled fish leftovers. Hubby's not around. Since my knight with a broom wasn't around, I make noises, switched on the lights and throw some crumpled paper into the garbage basket and something furry and black, not as big as our ratatouille encounter few years ago, quickly scrambled away to somewhere under a cabinet. I'm not going to chase after it. It will leave the way it came if there's nothing interesting in the garbage basket for few days. I hit the garbage basket with a long wooden spatula few times to ensure nothing is hiding in the basket before quickly bringing it out into the garbage bin. Since then, I decided to keep seafood, fish, chicken leftovers in a small plastic bag and in a plastic container in the freezer till it's time to throw the garbage out. I'm not tempting any Cik T or Cik Cen into the house again.
2. The new fridge didn't require defrosting like the old refrigerator. That can be a good thing but not really for us who experience power outage frequently when there's thunderstorm and lightning in our area. When power's out, the fridge will quickly becomes hot and spoiling the food. The old fridge with layers of ice in it, would hold out a little bit longer being cooler until all the ice melts. We'll be away soon for 2 days 1 night, returning home late at night. I'm making ice in several plastic containers hoping it'll maintain cool for a while longer just in case any power outage happens.
So that're my two kitchen tips for now.
