My initial thoughts - why don't I skip dinner.
My rational thoughts - I might get hungry later at night which forces me to eat something late at night and that wouldn't be good for digestion as well as my weight.
So I'm thinking of eating just veges but the thought of munching just the long beans didn't appeal to me. So half pot of rice goes into the rice cooker and gets cooked. Next, what's easy that I can take from freezer and cook? Ikan selar gets the vote so a quick wash, salt and turmeric powder and onto the AreIkan periuk ajaib. It's easy to cook fish with the pan. There's two version. The thinner one is pemanggang ajaib. The deeper one is periuk ajaib. I thought bigger is better when I choose between the two pans but now I thought the thinner one would be better as it would hold small fish. How often am I going to roast a big fat hen on that pan that makes me purchase the bigger one? Duh! Anyway, the fish cooks by itself as I watch TV and I almost forgot about it. Dried roasted fish on the menu. Sigh! Next, I need some gravy. The thought of cili padi and soy sauce didn't tempt me this time. I googled for some chilli recipe and decided the healthier choice would be asam rebus. I have brinjal / eggplant / aubergine... whatever you decide to call it. So that went into the pot with asam rebus. Wallah... a healthier recipe tonight.
What brings this recipe? My ever increasing weight! Huwaaaaa......
I need to use the confinement menu again to ensure the weight didn't continue increasing! What's different this past few weeks that has been causing weight gain? I thought I use coconut milk more in cooking. I've started taking soy bean drinks to regulate my hormones (the pharmacist where I normally get my medicine supply told me) and drinking Yakult for the prebiotic benefit. Probably all that and a few others that I didn't realize is contributing to my weight gain. Oh not to mention the numerous failed attempt to perform yoga daily, as well as some light exercise.
The 1 liter soy bean drink is marked as less sugar. Do you know how much sugar it contained? 20 grams of sugar (bold and flashing red)!!! How much is 20 grams? If you drink tea or coffe in hotels they would provide you with sugar sachets right! Use 4 of that sachet. Do you ever use 4 of that sachet in your drinks? I certainly DON'T. So why does a less sugar soy bean drink needs 20 grams of sugar in it beats me. I'm changing brands. Slightly less that 20 grams and not marked with less sugar. I should probably go for sugar free soy bean. I've tried it before. It tastes yucky but maybe URGENTLY required to combat the weight issues and continue regulating hormones.
I have NR Tea from previous confinement. Should probably take that again too. You know... with too many supplements sometimes I'm at a loss as whether I should take all and it won't interact negatively with one another. Anyway, today 26 April 2013 marks another attempt at losing weight.
