There are no better words to describe my reaction when I read comments by Choi Tuck Wo in the star today, about the wanna-be-seen-with-the-DPMs. A convoy of 40 cars following Pak Lah around on his visit to the flood relief centers in Penang prompted a "tak payah kerja?" question from the DPM himself. Pak Lah set a gruelling pace of covering 12 relief centers, ordering food stuffs and giving comforting words all in 4 hours, much to the dismay of those who wanna-be-seen-with-the-DPMs that they do not really bother getting out of their car then for not wanting to wet their leather shoes probably.
And again the authorities concerned are to be partly blamed for the flood condition, from poor coordination of opening the tidal gates, setback in pumps' installation, lack of monitoring on hill-side development and no enforcement on traders who clogged the drains, to name a few. First KL flash flood, now Penang... whose turn next?
