My Hospitalization Story

20 Dec 2013: Discharged.

Finally, after 72 days in hospital (DOA 10/10/2013). 18 and 19 hubby datang visit dalam keadaan demam. 20hb hubby tak boleh bangun :( SIL yang datang after work tolong discharge kan. That night bought some bread and McD porridge for hubby.

Shocked tengok rumah ala2 tongkang pecah. Rasa nak lari balik spital. On hindsight, not so bad lah. Selain berhabuk, bersepah jer. If I go anywhere, macam mana kita datang, macam tu lah kita tinggalkan tempat tu. Even hotel room pun minimal damage. Ni bila guest dah datang and harap hubby yang kemas, difficult for him bila dah busy terkejar2 sana sini. Apa2 pun tutup mata dulu. Hubby nak surprise kan dengan rumah kemas berkilat tapi mana nak tau kena demam pulak kan.

Next day pagi2 ke klinik dengan hubby and SIL after breakfast. Afternoon hubby dah ok sikit, he left for MLK. SIL yang temankan and dengan rajinnya kemas dapur beransur2. I fold the clothes. Itu jer yang boleh buat sambil duduk. The only other thing I can't stand to look is the bathroom.  Pelan2 cuci dengan air and gosok sikit. Sikittt jer. Hubby pun jarang guna bathroom bawah so bila dah nampak fresh lepas cuci, nampak lived in and lebih selesa. Lunch McD lebih beli last night dengan roti. Dinner pulak makan kat mamak jer.

SIL extend lagi stay on Sunday. Sambil2 buat kerja namecard and flyers for her business, sambil2 mop ruang tamu and study room atas. Late lunch nasi arab on SIL's request and then ke pasaraya gergasi temankan SIL cari barang. Sempat juga beli cadar baru sebab rasa nak menghias bilik jer. Bila tak larat, berehat di bench and SIL jer teruskan shopping. Dinner with pizza.

Esok SIL ker tempat kerja nyer dari rumah. Hubby sampai, not fully recovered yet. Hubby catch up with work, I sorted more laundry and lying down... we tapau food for lunch. Tak berapa nak ada energy. Malam just asked hubby habiskan whatever leftover meal from lunch. I felt like having just bread. Started to feel feverish and having coughs. Slept early but woke up around midnight having difficulty breathing and frequent bathroom visits. I packed at about 5 a.m. By now I know I needed to go to the hospital. So we went to the emergency ward after Subuh. No relief after 3 rounds of neb. By 9.15 asked hubby to wait at home. Looks like it's going to be a long day.

I was transferred to observation area at the emergency ward by noon. The bed there is more comfortable. After 5 hubby arrived and I was about to be transferred to O&G ward. Last time it was 5E. Now it's in 5F 3rd class because I need to be near to the nurse station. So...

24 Dec 2013 : Admitted again

That night after neb and CTG, went to toilet but felt like I was about to passed out. Managed to ring bell, purging only gas and phlegm. Didn't eat much at the emergency and then served rice porridge for lunch and dinner which I only managed few spoonfuls. Green vomit that night :( Dripped and managed to catch some sleep. Next day I can't rest because the bed is right under the fan. After lunch managed to get the nurse to change bed by the window with no direct fan. I know some day it'll be hot because this ward faces the afternoon sun but much better than direct fan.

Two nights where I can't sleep that Dr thinks I look dehydrated and requires drip, I/O urine record, few days of uncomfortable sleep, blood tests till I'm black and blue from needle marks and a chest x-ray. Every one thought hubby passed his germs to me. After all the tests finally Dr said it's HAP or hospital acquired pneumonia from my long stay in the hospital. Not to mention a long list of medication allergy after all the blood tests too. Started 7-days meropenem antibiotics which must be given intravenously. However they stopped after 5 days since I responded well to the antibiotic. My neb doses were 4-hourly, then 6-hourly and finally 8-hourly before they stopped it altogether to see whether I can breath normally. All that took 15 days till I was given the clear by medical doctors. On the 14th day i.e. 6th Jan my cerclage was off. Gynae wouldn't discharge me till at least Fri if I didn't go into labour. As it happens, I went into labour starting 12.30 a.m. on 8th Jan (Wed).

Altogether warded, delivery and NICU was 100 days in hospital for me. For my darling baby, I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. Masa warded after cerclage pernah terfikir tak sanggup go through all these again. Masa baby ada pun gitu sebab tak sanggup nak tinggalkan baby. Now I would do it over and over again if I have to.
