Photo taken at Desaru many months back. The beach is nothing to be shouted about but the sky is lovely no matter how dirty the ground gets.
I had a bad experience in Ipoh early this week. The hotel corridor and room has a strong musty smell, the balcony is full of bird droppings and the shower curtain looks like it has blood splattered on it. Actually it was the rust from the shower curtain ring. Probably someone folds it when the rings are wet and it got to the curtain. The moment I checked into the room, I felt the same way when it is the beginning of the semester and you don't like your new dorm room. When that happens, I'd normally left my things in a safe place and go find my friends.
But I don't have friends there so I left my things in the room, went out to find the place where I have to conduct the training tomorrow so I don't have any problem looking for it the next morning and find dinner. It occurred to me to request for a change of room but the hassle of going down to the reception counter and the thought that I won't be spending too much time in it anyway, I'll just bear with it for 2 nights. Luckily I don't have plan to extend my stay in Ipoh.
At the training center, the toilet there is not very clean. While taking tea break with the participants, we talk about our bad toilet experience. One of them remarked there are no water source at all in one of the Australian airport toilets and we go "iiieeee... don't they wash their hands?" Sanitized wet tissue is also not available. Just the normal toilet roll. So I go, "iiieeee... don't marry an Australian then" and everyone laughed. Suddenly I was reminded of my quiz results here. Hahahaha... rotfl.
I have another Ipoh training session next quarter but luckily my boss scraped my Ipoh trip. Ipoh participants will have to go to Penang for their training and I got to do more Penang trips :) Even the caterer in Ipoh was the worst caterer we have ever had. The food was OK but even with one participant unable to make it, we don't have enough food. And we had sirap for afternoon tea break with our kuih. No caterer in their right mind would prepare cold drinks for tea break. I have not looked at the menu and the arrangement with our Admin staff here but luckily we have tea on our second day tea break.
The only nice thing I bring back from Ipoh is some very sweet and juicy pomelo. My colleagues in the office love it. I'm not a big fan of pomelo so I only bought three. One for me, one for office and one for my mom. Now I wish I had bought more.
A really good news for me, I'll be going to Kuching again in the next quarter *huge grin* I love my trip there. I can probably go kayaking again. Yes! Yes! Yes! :D OK... enough rambling on a lovely, bright and windy Saturday morning.
