Wedding Of The Year

I was watching CSI on NTV7 when mom called and reminded me to watch the wedding of the year on TV3. "Yeah mom, I'll watch it later." It is THE event of the year. You might choose not to watch it but you can't comment when other people are giving their comments.

I switched channel at 9 p.m. and discovered I've missed the 'walking-in' part. The dais looks so grand and fresh and the bride radiant and sweet. The groom looks confident as always. He holds the bride's hand while she is taking her seat before taking the seat himself. While the do'a was recited, both the bride and groom were seen breathing heavily probably due to nervousness.

The ceremony then continues with the menepung tawar ceremony led by HRH Sultan of Pahang, HRH Sultan Terengganu, Datuk K's parent and Siti's parents. Short and sweet. All the while, I feel as if Datuk K is not feeling very comfortable on his seat. The seat really didn't look very comfortable at all but Siti looked poise on hers. A friend remarked they have a high paid consultant to do the job. But yeah the consultants don't have to sit up there, with tight samping and probably a keris.

During the wedding dinner, both the bride and groom are seated separately. In between, HRH Sultan Pahang is seated. No suap-menyuap session lah nampaknyer :) The menu sounded appetizing but the poor VVIPs have to eat them very very politely. Hmmm... what a waste of food. The guest was entertained by traditional dances performed by a group of kids (they looked so cute) and songs sang by local and Indonesian artiste during dinner.

While Kris Dayanti was interviewed (she was said to be Siti's confidante), she revealed some stories like Siti putting 'love' as Datuk K's name in her handphone and how before she went for umrah, Siti mentioned her mom was not so happy with her choice. These facts were not revealed during 'Tiada Lagi Rahsia' program aired on TV3 for three consecutive weeks before the nikah ceremony.

The two person not invited or invited but can't attend the ceremony are Mawi and Jamal Abdillah. Mawi has his own show live and Jamal Abdillah was invited to sing on his show.

The ceremony continued with cake cutting ceremony. The happy couple walked slowly towards the cake, made slower due to Siti's ball gown. So no suap-menyuap session during dinner but they did with the cake. Siti's parents were then invited to cut pulut kuning to commemorate their 38th wedding anniversary. Siti proceed to sing a song penned by herself for her dear hubby and the guest before the ceremony ends.

I like her bersanding dress better than her ballgown.

So that's it. The event that everyone has been waiting for or can't wait for it to end so we can concentrate on other events like Merdeka celebration for example. There is another issue there. Should Merdeka be celebrated with one concert after another? But that's another story.
