If you've put off important tasks until later and later, getting busy with many not so important activities, always waiting for the right mood to do something, dramatize a commitment to a task rather than actually doing it, you're probably in the same boat as mine. The boat is not going anywhere and its not a nice feeling being in that boat. Probably the few articles below would help.
I find the 5-minutes trick very practical and do-able. It says force ourselves to work on the specific task for just 5 minutes. The chances are, we'd continue doing the work after the 5 minutes are over. Another one is rewarding ourselves after the job is done. Set small goals like doing the work for 15 uninterrupted minutes before getting that cup of tea or coffee or TV break. Very practical isn't it! Now for that most important tip of all. Just do it! I better clear out everything that I've put off by end of the year. I want to start the new year without any shadow of unfinished work, and I'm going to do all that beginning.... tomorrow :D hehe...
